Autumn term writing awards

1st December 2014

The Autumn term Eastlea writing awards were presented today in a special assembly.  Eight winners were chosen - one from each class and the quality of the writing was clear to everyone in the hall.

Early mark making was celebrated with words showing letter shapes about the Gruffalo in Nursery, through to sentence writing in Reception, then adding connectives in Year 1 and adjectives in Year 2.  In Year 3 there was an amusing  '100 word write' about a super squirrel, before a recount of a visit to Bede's World from Year 4, narrative tension from Year 5 and a powerful letter written from the trenches in World War 1 written by a boy in Year 6.

Well done to Lexie, Heather, Kiya, Kia, Narry, Lewis, Jaimie and Lee who take home letters to their paretns and a certificate today. Take a look at their photos in the gallery. If you want to read their work for yourself it is in a folder in our library!
