Eastlea represented at School Games

22nd June 2016
Eastlea Primary were well represented at the annual Northumberland School Games which took place on 21st and 22nd June at Concordia and CLV.

Teams from right across Northumberland came to compete in a whole variety of sports over the two days.

On Tuesday the Eastlea singing club were chosen to perform the school games anthem at the opening ceremony in Concordia and then they sang throughout the day at CLV to entertain the competitors.

On Wednesday it was the turn of 8 of our Year 6 mini-leaders.  They had the very important role of helping to make sure the day ran smoothly - they were presented with 'batons' representing the 6 school games values, supported the events that were happening and then at the end of the day they were delighted to have a key role in presenting the medals at the medal ceremony.

We were very proud that our school was represented at the games on both days and the children had the chance to meet olympic and world champion athletes which they were delighted about!
