Christmas shoe boxes

23rd November 2015
Mrs Weatherson coordinated our annual support of the Operation Christmas Child charity appeal which involves putting together 'shoe boxes' of gifts for children around the world to open on Christmas morning!  This year we had lots of items brought into school to go into the boxes and we made 14 in total.  Jordan, Tegan and Keilantra helped to deliver the shoe boxes to Doxford Church in Cramlington and there we saw the way that all the volunteers work together to gather all the donations from Cramlington.

The girls were warmly welcomed by Jackie and her team and we were presented with a  certificate in recognition of our support.  We stayed to help of course and could have stayed much longer as there was so much going on!

It was fascinating to see the organised process of getting the boxes filled with sutable presents, checking, sealing and then transferring them into large brown boxes ready for collection by the lorry. One room was already totally full of boxes and another was well on the way to being full!

This year we found that our presents were going to Romania - and wish everyone there 'CRACIUN FERICIT!' (Happy Christmas)
