Queen's 90th Birthday street party

27th May 2016
On Friday 27th May we had a super Golden Day with a  street party to celebrate the Queen's 90th Birthday.  Everyone entered into the spirit of the day - coming dressed in red, white and blue for our themed dress up day!

Each class completed a range of different activites.  We had Buckingham Palace 'junk' models in KS1, cup cake decorating across the school, play dough 'Street Party' KS1 bake off (judged by the Queen herself!!) plus ornate crown, flag and rosette making in KS2.

Nursery had a 90th birthday party snack time supported by Year 6 in the hall in the morning and then for the rest of the school we set up our street party on the yard in the afternoon - and everyone came out to enjoy party food at the long decorated tables!  We sang the national anthem and had entertainment from our very own Steel Pan band - which finished with a rendition of Happy Birthday sang especially for the Queen!

Thaks to everyone for making the day so memorable - and the sun even came out for us in time for the street party!!
